Underwater archaeology conference organized DEGUWA finished
Annual Conference of the German Society of Underwater Archaeology DEGUWA was held from 20th - 23rd of April 2014. Lectures at the conference were held by about forty experts from over 10 different countries, and overall, the conference has brought together around hundred of interested visitors. In addition to lectures, the program consisted of dive at the underwater site, experimental archaeology course and organized visits to museums, sites and dendrochronological laboratory. The main part of the events took place in Unteruhldingen in Germany, where, at the shore of Lake Constance, is a museum of prehistoric pile dwellings, so-called Pfahlbau museum. The conference was held under the patronage of UNESCO, which has declared a series of pile-dwelling sites around the Alps a world cultural heritage.
