Third Meeting of the State Parties to the Convention at UNESCO in Paris

On 13 and April 14 2011 at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris a meeting of the Parties to the Convention on the Protection of Underwater Cultural Heritage was held. The preparation of operational guidelines for the Convention and the current work of the Working Group were discussed. A certain sections of this new document were adopted and a new composition of the Working Group was agreed upon, which shall continue its work on the proposal of the guidelines. After two days of meetings, on the third day, a meeting of Scientific and technical advisory body to the Convention was held, in whose composition was among others re-elected Jasen Mesić, Minister of Culture of Republic of Croatia and an expert in the field of underwater archeology.
