The Piruzi rock late roman shipwreck excavation
A team comprised of ICUA Zadar and Bayern Society for Underwater Archaeology divers started the Piruzi rock late roman shipwreck excavation last week. Altogether 11 divers has set the quadrant grid and documented and excavated remains of amphorae and oder pottery. The site shall be researched in the years to come, along with two more in the Rovinj archipelago. At the same time in port Veštar, the stone ruins of postmedieval "port authority", that is located in front of a pier excavated in past years, was cleared off brushwood.
