Scientific conference Europa Postmediaevalis 2026, ICUA Zadar, 14 – 16 April 2026

From 14 to 16 April, the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar will host the fifth scientific conference, Europa Postmediaevalis 2026 — Fragments of Buried Stories, bringing together more than 40 leading experts from 17 countries. The program features four thematic panels on contemporary archaeological research. The accompanying program includes a majolica painting workshop in the Centre’s experimental pavilion for the conference participants, the presentation of the book Clay Tobacco Pipes in Croatia written by Luka Bekić, PhD, and the opening of an exhibition dedicated to pipes. The Department of Archaeology at the University of Zadar is a partner of the conference. Europa Postmediaevalis conference is a joint project of the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague and the Centre for Processing, Documentation and Recording of Archaeological Finds. This program is implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and Media and the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague.
