Rescue Research of the Roman boat in the river Ljubljanica, Slovenia
International Centre for Underwater Archaeology is actively engaged in the archaeological team led by Miran Erič from Institute for Protection of Cultural heritage of Slovenia which explores sunken boat in Ljubljanica. Early Roman cargo wooden boat that was found in the river bed of Ljubljanica near Vrhnika is in danger due to future regulation of the river. The boat is being excavated from river sediments and documented by photogrammetry and drawings, so he could be moved to a nearby depository in the event that this part of the coast is pillared in defense against erosion.
