NAS 2017 Courses at ICUA
In 2017 ICUA Zadar will continue to organize Nautical Archaeological Society (NAS) courses. NAS courses aim to provide not just an introduction to the underwater archaeology, but also offer people a chance to build their skills and experience, allowing them to take part in projects and fieldwork around the world and perhaps to run their own projects. The ICUA Team will conduct NAS courses during 2017 in Rovinj County. Theoretical lectures will be conducted at the diving club “Rubin” in resort Villas Rubin, and practical exercises will be conducted in the underwater environs of archaeological site Mučje Sike near resort Villas Rubin. Timetable More information Part I certificate in foreshore and underwater archaeology course will consist of theoretical lectures - Carrying out an archaeological project, Locating and exploring a site, Project safety and logistics, 3D survey, Dealing with finds, Post field activity and practical sessions - getting to know a site and recording a site (two dives). Introduction to Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology Part I Certificate in Foreshore and Underwater Archaeology Courses requirements Course fee includes: - NAS training record card Diving equipment should be brought by participants or it can be rented at a local diving club (expenses not covered by the organizers). The organizers will cover the costs of renting and filling diving air tanks during the course. Participants should arrange transportation to resort Villas Rubin by themselves at their own expense. Participants should arrange accommodation during the courses by themselves at their own expense. The number of participant for each course is limited, so send in your applications as soon as possible! Course will be held in English, if English speakers apply. Applications and accompanying documentation (short CV, copy of diving certificate, copy of medical certificate ensuring fitness for diving and diving insurance) should be sent by e-mail in electronic form to ICUA Zadar to the attention of Mr. Mladen Pešić ( mpesic@icua.hr).
