9th Balkan Archaeometry Symposium
The second day of the international symposium on archaeometry was held within the International Center for Underwater Arcaheology in Zadar.
The University of Zadar is the host of the 9th Balkan Symposium on Archaeometry, which will be held in Zadar from 4th to 7th November, 2024. It is a scientific discipline that uses methods and techniques of natural and technical sciences, primarily chemistry, physics, mineralogy, materials science, as well as biological sciences, especially molecular biology, in the examination and explanation of archaeological finds.
As one of the organizing partners, ICUA Zadar hosted researchers and lecturers of the international symposium on November 5, 2024. After lectures and discussions on the topic of various analyzes /material characterization the international team of lecturers and scientists visited, under the expert guidance of ICUA Zadar director, Ph.D. Mladen Pešić, the permanent display of underwater cultural heritage within the Education and Presentation Center for Underwater Archaeology St. Nicholas as well as restoration and conservation workshops.
