The call for papers has been announced for the international expert conference ‘’Maritime Renaissance – Adriatic Trade Routes in Late Medieval and Post Medieval Period’’ that will take place in Zadar from 5 and 7 November 2020.
The conference will be organized by ICUA Zadar in partnership with the Department of Archaeology of the University of Zadar. The event is generously supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and the Central European Initiative Fund. The conference programme will be staged at the University of Zadar’s Great Hall and will be open for the public.

This conference aims to create an opportunity for the underwater archaeologists, historians and researchers to share and present their scientific work, discuss a new development and exchange experiences about the traces of international shipping trade routes which crossed the most important navigational directions in the Adriatic Sea. ‘’Maritime Renaissance’’ will be devoted to new discoveries of shipwrecks and their cargos, ports and harbours, but also to different archaeological materials which testify the great progress of maritime trade.
The basic purpose of the international conference is to encourage and facilitate the exchange of knowledge in the underwater archaeology, to make data available to the wider public, showing the richness of the maritime heritage underwater not only on national, but also on international level.
