“Blackbeard the Pirate and his lost ship: the Queen Anne’s Revenge”
In the classroom of ICUA Zadar, on Friday, 7 October, at 17h, a public lecture titled "Pirate Blackbeard and his lost ship Queen Anne's Revenge" was held.
Blackbeard is perhaps the most famous pirate in history. His flagship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, sank off the coast of North Carolina in 1718, and was discovered by SCUBA divers in 1996. For 20 years now, underwater archaeologists have investigated this fascinating shipwreck and the visitors had the opportunity to listen to the story of research firsthand, by one of the participants of the project, underwater archaeologist and doctoral student at Oxford, Lisa Briggs.
