Opening of the exhibition "Archaeological research of the St. Nicholas site in Zadar in 2014."

On the occasion of the current visit of Danish underwater archaeologists as the part of the two-year agreement on cooperation in the field of underwater archeology, on Friday, 16th of  September 2016, the opening of the exhibition titled "Archaeological reserch of the St. Nicholas site in Zadar in 2014 ". Authors of the exhibition are: Roko Surić, Sime Vrkić, Luka Bekić and Mladen Pešić.

The third campaign of underwater and land research of Osijek Great Bridge

In the period from 11th to 15th July 2016 employees of the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar conducted another campaign of archaeological research in the pond Small Đola in Darda, where a wooden bridge stood in the 16th century. With leader and deputy Mladen Pešić and Luka Bekić, as archaeology divers participated Roko Surić and Maja Kaleb, while land excavations was led by Šime Vrkić with contractors Marko Gašić, Milan Suzić, Krunoslav Marković and Marko Zagorščak.

UNESCO held a regional meeting and scientific colloquium in Copenhagen

In the National Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 8 and 9 June 2016, UNESCO held a regional meeting and scientific colloquium dedicated to the protection of underwater cultural heritage. At the meeting, representatives of 9 countries, including Croatia, made recommendations for the protection of underwater heritage.

The third season of exploration at Piruzi

From 30. April to 07. May 2016 the third reserch campaign on Piruzi rocks near Rovinj has been completed. The study is part of the multi-year project "Rovinj shipwrecks", carried out in cooperation with the Tourist board of City of Rovinj.
