Research of the ancient shipwreck in Potkamenica bay on island Šolta

Archeological excavations were carried out at the site of the shipwreck in Potkamenica Bay from June 27 to July 3, 2020. Besides the employees of the International Centre for Underwater Archeology in Zadar - Maja Kaleb, Roko Surić, Zdenka Vrgoč, Luka Bekić and Mladen Pešić -  the members of the Association of Underwater Archaeologists Rostrum Split participated in the project: Marko Lete, Marko Polić and Neven Lete.

Oceans and seas account for 70% of the planet’s surface, and seawater for 97% of its waters. Seas give us food and energy but they also regulate our climate, provide us with half of our oxygen and take up a considerable proportion of the carbon dioxide we emit. Signature of the Agreement for the project „Renovation of the complex of the former St. Nicholas church and monastery in Zadar“

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, accompanied by Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Marko Pavić, Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković and Director of the Central Finance and Contracting Agency Tomislav Petric handed over agreements for EU projects worth 135 million HRK on Monday, 25th May 2020 in Zadar.

International conference ‘’Maritime Renaissance – Adriatic Trade Routes in Late Medieval and Post Medieval Period’’, ICUA Zadar, Zadar, 5 - 7 November 2020

The call for papers has been announced for the international expert conference ‘’Maritime Renaissance – Adriatic Trade Routes in Late Medieval and Post Medieval Period’’ that will take place in Zadar from 5 and 7 November 2020.
The conference will be organized by ICUA Zadar in partnership with the Department of Archaeology of the University of Zadar. The event is generously supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and the Central European Initiative Fund. The conference programme will be staged at the University of Zadar’s Great Hall and will be open for the public.
